Extraordinary Evangelist Julio Severo Goes Home, Leaving Wife and 7 Kids

An urgent appeal by Scott and Anne Lively…

PLEASE HELP THE JULIO AND SARAH SEVERO FAMILY
OUR WONDERFUL CHRISTIAN FRIEND AND PRO-FAMILY HERO JULIO SEVERO HAS DIED SUDDENLY IN A POVERTY STRICKEN AREA OF CENTRAL AMERICA, LEAVING BEHIND HIS WIFE SARAH AND SEVEN CHILDREN WITH NO INCOME.

Julio (pronounced with a hard J) was a talented, internationally recognized Brazilian pro-family writer whose work against the very aggressive LGBT agenda there made him the target of severe persecution, and, eventually, the threat of imminent political prosecution by corrupt authorities under “anti-homophobia” laws in his home country.

Rightly fearing for his family, he fled Brazil a decade ago to raise his children (illegally, since they had no visas) in a rural area of a neighboring country beyond the jurisdiction of his enemies. The sole source of income for the Severo family was what he earned as a writer. He was one of the very first pro-family leaders to be “cancelled” by PayPal, limiting his already meager income. The Severo family have lived at or near poverty level there all this time.

[Editor’s note: Severo contributed to The Liberty Sentinel and did an exclusive interview with us here: Evangelist Julio Severo: Persecuted for Righteousness’ Sake]

A few years ago, Anne and I visited them in the jungle and treated their whole family to a feast at a native restaurant in a nearby city. You’ve never seen small children consume so much food in a single sitting (a sight to warm any grandparent’s heart). Julio was one of my closest international allies and he frequently translated my articles into Portuguese. We occasionally donated to their support (though I now wish I had donated more).

A week ago Sarah found Julio dead in his office, apparently of natural causes, possibly a heart attack. He had been suffering health issues without telling any supporters or seeking medical help there because they were “illegals.” Now the family is in serious crisis because Julio provided their only income and they cannot appeal to the government because they do not have legal visas. Sarah wants more than anything to bring her children to the United States, but is exploring other options, too.

This appeal today is to raise money to help Sarah and the Severo children get through this ordeal, and, if we can raise enough, to hire an immigration lawyer to help them get to the US (any referrals for low cost or pro-bono legal help would be welcome — I personally never did immigration law and my CA-only law license has been inactive for several years).

Like myself, Julio was always a major target of the far left, including Right Wing Watch, and we do not think any of the fundraising platforms such as Go Fund Me would let us raise money for him there (plus we don’t want them to get a share of the donations). Donations to ScottLively.net are processed by a good Christian alternative to PayPal and these other “woke” sites. SO, we’re stepping in to “quarterback” the benevolence effort for Julio’s family. Please help if you can.

DONATE HERE AND BE SURE TO SELECT THE OPTION”EMERGENCY HELP FOR JULIO SEVERO FAMILY.”100% will go to this need.

Please feel free to forward this appeal to your missionary-minded friends, family and church members who might be willing to help.
