VERO BEACH, Fla. — Dr. Anthony Fauci should spend the rest of his life “rotting away” in federal prison for his role in destroying America and trampling on the unalienable liberties of the American people, said Florida Representative Anthony Sabatini at a Freedom Rally organized in his honor.
The firebrand Republican lawmaker also called the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases chief “the most destructive person in American history.”
Rep. Sabatini, who is running for U.S. Congress, noted that he was very serious about the need to hold Fauci criminally accountable for the destruction the federal scientist unleashed on America under the guise of “public health.”
“Some people think I say things like that for dramatic effect,” he told hundreds of enthusiastic supporters at the Indian River County Freedom Rally. “I don’t. Anthony Fauci should literally spend every last moment of his life rotting away in a federal prison.”
Praising Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as the nation’s “best governor” right now, Sabatini argued that even DeSantis could have done more to resist the totalitarian madness that swept America in spring of 2020.
Among other concerns, Sabatini blasted mask mandates, lockdowns, shutting churches, closing schools, and many other policies implemented during COVID that he said were tyrannical and unconstitutional.
By standing against the policies implemented in other states, Sabitini said Florida proved that individual liberty and personal responsibility are perfectly compatible with health and safety.
The lawmaker, who received various awards from liberty groups in Florida for his devotion to freedom, argued that Trump was one of America’s greatest presidents.
Rep. Sabatini also defended U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and U.S. Representative Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who he said were being attacked by the establishment for standing on principle.
By contrast, the Florida lawmaker–extremely popular with grassroots conservatives–blasted House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
“He should be expelled from the GOP,” fumed Rep. Sabatini, who serves in the Florida National Guard and was first elected to the legislature in 2018.
Squishy Republican politicians “ask themselves if saying and doing what the grassroots and their constituents want would cause the media to call them mean names,” Sabatini said.
If those Republicans determine that saying or doing the right thing would in fact cause the media and Democrats to attack them, they often shy away from it.
But for Sabatini, it is important to stand for what’s right, even if he stands alone, he said.
“It’s not that I’m not a team player,” the increasingly popular state representative continued in reference to criticism from liberal Republicans in Tallahassee that he needs to cooperate more. “It’s just that I’m not on your team.”
“It’s us versus them,” he added.
The crowd responded with a thunderous standing ovation.
The establishment media has become increasingly aggressive in targeting Sabatini, including a recent attack by the far-left Washington Post owned by Amazon boss Jeff Bezos.
Numerous speakers said the attacks from the “fake media” prove Sabatini is doing the right thing.
The Freedom Rally in Vero Beach was co-hosted by grassroots organizations including Defend Florida, Moms for Liberty, We The People Indian River County, Florida’s chapter of Gun Owners of America, Florida’s branch of the Republican Liberty Caucus, Women Impacting the Nation, and more.
Numerous other speakers offered remarks as well, including journalist Alex Newman, artist Debra Jenkins, Rules for Deplorables author Cathy Chamberlin, Defend Florida co-founder Raj Doraisamy, Republican Liberty Caucus chairman Bob White, Michael Sabga of the constitutionalist John Birch Society, organizer Lamarre Notargiacomo, and more.
Both the Venezuela-born Sabga and the Ethiopia-born Doraisamy shared their experiences of coming to America and seeing the incredible prosperity and liberty.
“We must defend our state and our freedom,” said Doraisamy.
