FREDERICKSBURG, TEXAS–The U.S. government should leave the United Nations and restore American sovereignty as an urgent matter, explained U.S. Congressman Chip Roy (R-Texas) in this discussion with journalist Alex Newman at the Fredericksburg Tea Party’s Boots & BBQ fundraiser.
Rep. Roy is the chief sponsor of the DEFUND Act to “disengage entirely from the United Nations debacle.” He picked up the torch from lawmakers in previous congresses who also tried to get the U.S. out of the UN.
The conservative congressman, who is now running for Texas attorney general, also warned that there are powerful forces seeking to overthrow the American system. They must be stopped.
Interestingly, Rep. Roy also called for government to get out of the education business. He said he sends his own children to a classical Christian school.
Among other absurdities in Congress, the lawmaker noted that U.S. taxpayer funding for Israel and Hamas (via UNRWA) were both included in the same bill. The spending must be reined in, he said.
All of that and much more in this fascinating discussion:
We need to stay and maintain America’s veto power.
Otherwise, I agree. Minimal money to the UN.
I disagree as well. We should stay in the UN so as to uphold Americas rights in the world. We should stop all payments to the UN , stop all kinds of funding.
The question is how do we prevent the UN from financially aiding and abetting illegal immigrants from coming to the United States. Also, it should be made public to all of us just how many billions of dollars the United States gives to the UN.
