TALLAHASSEE — Florida lawmakers will be considering a bill that would nullify the U.S. Supreme Court’s unconstitutional Roe v. Wade opinion by criminalizing the murder of unborn children after a heartbeat is detected.
In an interview, Representative Mike Hill (R-Pensacola) said it was the duty of state governments to step in and protect the God-given rights of Americans. That is especially true in the case of unborn children–the most helpless and innocent of all.
The federal government never had the power to overturn state laws against the murder of children. And as such, the Supreme Court opinion must be nullified and pre-born babies protected, explained Hill, a constitutionalist lawmaker from Florida’s conservative-leaning panhandle.
Unlike many similar pieces of legislation across America, the Florida measure, known as House Bill 235 in the last session, does not include exceptions. Representative Hill said killing unborn babies is wrong, regardless of the circumstances. And so, he will keep pushing the bill when the legislature meets again.
Indeed, the whole purpose of government is to protect the God-given rights of people. And because life is the most basic and fundamental right, government has an obligation–a sacred duty–to protect that right and punish those who would violate it.
