Government Schools – Public Enemy Number 1

Foundation of Civilization

Christianity and the nuclear family are the bedrock duo of any successful civilization. The two of these work in tandem in strengthening people individually, their civilization overall, and each other. However, once one of these is threatened, so are the people and the other. When the people of any civilization reject this duo, they will pay horrific prices, typically in the name of enlightenment, liberation, or progress.

There is a wide array of things in our society that actively attack the nuclear family and Christianity. This includes (but is not limited to):

movies, television shows, music, media, celebrities, corporations, the satanic temple, Planned Parenthood, the welfare state, politicians, literature, etc.

There is one institution, however, that poses a threat to our civilization’s bedrock on a scale that dwarfs all the previously mentioned threats. On top of being a much larger threat, it also strengthens and empowers the other threats to boot. This institution has inflicted incalculable damage to our country. This institution has put the United States on the tracks to hell.

I speak of school – Public Enemy Number 1.

Assault on Families

Many people, especially conservatives, have taken note of the insanity in schools as of late. Drag queen dance performances, Critical Race Theory, BDSM festivals at colleges. If we could just ban these things and pray in school, all would be well again, they reason. The problem is that these issues are like weeds with deep roots. If you trim the top, things will inevitably and quickly return to their current state. If people can’t see the roots, they’ll think that they are not there. So, what are these school roots that attack the nuclear family?

Separation

The first tactic schools employ is to separate families by taking their time. Make no mistake, this is not an accident, but very intentional.

“If the public schools can keep the children occupied…throughout the day with sports after school and homework in the evening, the parents will have less than an hour a day with their children, and the family’s and Christian church’s influence over them could be broken in about a generation.”

-John Dewey (1859-1952), education reformer.

Out of context, that quote sounds like Dewey is issuing a warning. But what he is actually saying is that he wants that to happen. John Dewey was a humanist who was very anti-Christianity, but I repeat myself.

Prior to compulsive schooling, spending a lot of time with your family was normal and natural. Humans have been on the Earth a while and the advent of mass compulsory schooling is a relatively new phenomenon. It feels normal since you’ve known a society built around it your whole life. But it is anything but natural or good.

And so, Johnny goes off to school, spending his hours away in the company of a collection of random kids and government employees, seeing his parents only in the evening and weekends. And even then, Johnny has so many assignments to complete and soccer practices to attend, that he doesn’t usually connect or bond significantly with his parents. Johnny goes to school with his brother and sister, but they are in separate grades or classes. They run into each other occasionally in the hallway and perhaps 30 minutes for recess or lunch. This is the case with public, private, and parochial schools as well.

And so, with the passage of each truancy law, America’s families became all the weaker.

Weaker Marital Candidates

Schools make people weaker in general, which makes for weaker future husbands, wives, fathers, and mothers. That means that the supply of quality men and women shrinks, and being a lesser person becomes the norm. There are a lot of ways that schools do this. One of the biggest ways schools do this is the removal of responsibility for parenting. The schools take children for a near majority of their time. This is a huge burden parents no longer have to deal with. When searching for a wife, men no longer have to select a woman who they feel will do a good job educating their future children. Women no longer have to prepare to present themselves as being capable of educating potential children. I have met plenty of attractive women who were initially appealing dating candidates. However, imagining them as a mother of my children instantly made them undesirable. Stupid, ignorant, and emotionally unstable is now seen as normal and expected. Responsibility for one’s own family via homeschooling is simply laughed at while recreation and money are lauded. So many dismiss home education as “not convenient.” I guess that tracks in the minds of those with a slave mentality. Being free from dependence on the government is not as easy as being their cattle, it is true.

“It’s not an endlessly expanding list of rights – the “right” to education, the “right” to health care, the “right” to food and housing. That’s not freedom, that’s dependency. Those aren’t rights, those are the rations of slavery – hay and a barn for human cattle.”
-Alexis de Tocqueville

School itself is the implementation of vice and weakness. Herd mentality is prevalent, instilling cowardice where courage once had the chance to be. Schools create emotionally dependent people, constantly worried about, if not crippled by, the approval of their peers and/or parents. Schools literally make children intellectually dependent. These intellectually dependent children grow into people incapable of arriving at their own conclusions. They need the “experts” to tell them what is true and false, waiting upon the media and “the science” to dictate their perception of reality. They employ “studies” and “sources” in argument, as if they were Pokémon cards. “Oh, you have such and such opinion, well I choose this source, which says you’re wrong!” as if such a line settled the matter.

Schools make people stupid. They have crippled America’s literacy, making reading a chore, rather than an integral component of lifelong learning. 1 in 5 American adults are functionally illiterate, and over half are no more than “basic” in their reading abilities, and this is with charitable grading. Those numbers are from the government’s own self-reports. And when reading is a chore, then that handicap will set a high bar for entry for studying anything else- history, politics, economics, religion, etc. This creates a people with nuance free soundbite stances and worldviews. Case in point: how often have you heard an atheist argue: If God is good and all powerful, why is there suffering? As if there hasn’t been literally 2 millennia’s worth of writers and thinkers who have given many satisfactory explanations.

Apathy and indifference are programmed into children’s minds, making them slothful and passive, rather than industrious and informed. Bread and circuses start in school when starting in middle school, children are programmed into caring unnaturally about sports. The school’s mascot is a symbol of sports. The school stops class to throw pep rallies that celebrate sports. Lots of school funding goes to sports. Attendance of sports games becomes a social center point. There are sports all year, and a lot of them: football, basketball, soccer, baseball, golf, track and field, swim, golf, wrestling, and more.

Any sport, as an isolated activity, is a great and healthy outlet. But good things can be utilized for bad purposes. Our country is obsessed with sports and they consume so much effort, time, and attention. And so, we find ourselves with bread and circuses. Joe Average can tell you about the NFL career of , but can he tell you the variety of communist tactics for destroying our nation from the inside out? Probably nothing more than the soundbites he’s heard on the evening news, if he has anything to say at all.

Schools create mental issues for many people too. Stress, anxiety, depression, powerlessness- all of it adds up. And for those who are healthy and vibrant , they put on drugs if they don’t like sitting still for 7 hours a day every day.

What is the aftermath? Adults are finding themselves increasingly less suited and mature enough for marriage. Most aren’t even sure that they want marriage if they haven’t already outright rejected it as merely a “piece of paper.” The ones who do desire to be married find a dating pool full of psycho, shallow, conceited women, and pathetic, unmotivated, effeminate men. For those who desire marriage, this inescapable selection impedes the creation of families by either delaying or outright preventing them from forming. Sometimes this causes adults to feel the need to settle and marry someone who they don’t respect, causing the weakening of many families at the outset, and divorce for many later on.

School as Welfare

The welfare state is a direct attack on families. By usurping the responsibilities that families are intended to bear, the welfare state has given birth to a culture of irresponsible pleasure seekers. If you get a girl pregnant, she can just get an abortion, many times provided by welfare dollars. If she keeps the child, then she can live off state dollars. If he leaves, no biggie. The state can take of his offspring. This has directly contributed to the epidemic of single motherhood and fatherless homes.

School provides what is essentially daycare for all children. School is one of the largest, if not the largest, welfare provided by the state. This permits single mothers to work full time. So, if a man isn’t needed to be a breadwinner, then plenty of men won’t be. It’s that simple.

Once again public schools and mandatory attendance laws have damaged the nuclear family by merely existing. The welfare of school has caused the prevention of families from forming by either abortion, or fatherless homes. The welfare of school has weakened many families by conditioning them to rely on the state rather than to be self-reliant. The welfare of schools has broken many homes where many parents feel empowered to abandon their spouse simply because they “aren’t happy anymore.”

College Attendance

Without even touching on the curriculum and culture of college, simply entering weakens and destroys families. Schools have long told their students that they need to attend college and that doing so was paramount to their success. With school loans from the government to every Jack and Jill who asked for one, massive debt was suddenly normalized. Financial issues are one of the leading factors in divorce. By the pure numbers of adults who have taken out crippling student loans, plenty of divorces can be expected on that factor alone.

Blatant Indoctrination

Schools are now openly engaging in brainwashing children with anti-family worldviews. Communism is being promoted by many teachers and communism is an anti-family philosophy. The LGBTQ agenda is currently infiltrating many schools nationwide. It’s every day now that I hear about a teacher teaching child that they can be any of infinite genders, trans children being permitted in any bathroom, a child is being given puberty blockers by their school, or drag queens are reading or dancing for students. Feminism is being learned from their peers (I bet they aren’t learning it from regular Sunday attendance of an orthodox sect of Christianity). Progressivism and wokeism are becoming a staple for American children. Is it any wonder adults now reject marriage, sleep around, and promote gay adoption?

Assault on Christianity

Public schools also exist to remove Christian devotion from the populace. First, there is the aforementioned quote from John Dewey regarding the elimination of the Christian church’s influence. Charles Francis Potter was a signer of the Humanist Manifesto, along with Dewey. Humanism is a system of belief (for all intents and purposes a religion) defined as “an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters.” Lest there is any doubt regarding whether the negative effect schools have on Christianity is intentional or not, here is Potter speaking:

“Education is thus a most powerful ally of humanism, and every public school is a school of humanism. What can theistic Sunday school, meeting for an hour once a week, and teaching only a fraction of the children, do to stem the tide of a five-day program of humanist teachings? “

– Charles Francis Potter

Once kids and families are busy- busy with school, busy with work, busy with homework, busy with sports, busy out the wazoo, suddenly Sunday becomes quite the irresistible choice for a day of relaxation and recreation, and who can blame them? And with the family actively breaking down, parents- the prime agents in bringing children to church- are no longer taking their children to church. Once again, the mere existence of schools and truancy laws have caused a massive blow to our civilization’s bedrock by attacking the prevalence of Christianity. Even if you teach read the Bible with your children in your home and take them to church on Sunday, that doesn’t change the fact that your child now has to live in America Babylon, along with the unending negative and evil influences that it brings to their life.

Bibles used to be a staple in learning how to read. Most homes not only had one, but used it. With the advent of schooling, issues arose regarding the dominance of one sect over another in the classroom as well as the mixing of state and church. It was then all too easy to remove the Bible as an element of childhood altogether. With church attendance down, the Bible removed from the minds and hearts of children, it wasn’t long until a new generation of parents came about who had no intention of teaching Christianity in the home either.

As stated earlier, the schools are responsible for inducing a literacy crisis. The typical American pre-mass schooling was literate and educated, as in we would literally be academically better without public schools existing (and better in every way too).

“The poorest labourer upon the shore of Delaware thinks himself entitled to deliver his sentiments in matters of religion or politics with as much freedom as the gentleman or scholar …Such is the prevailing taste for books of every kind, that almost every man is a reader; and by pronouncing sentence, right or wrong, upon the various publications that come in his way, puts himself upon a level, in point of knowledge, with their several authors.”

-Jacob Duche, the Chaplain of Congress (1772)

Sheldon Richman quotes data showing that from 1650 to 1795, American male literacy climbed from 60 to 90 percent. Between 1800 and 1840 literacy in the North rose from 75 percent to between 91 and 97 percent. In the South the rate grew from about 55 percent to 81 percent. Richman also quotes evidence indicating that literacy in Massachusetts was 98 percent on the eve of legislated compulsion and is about 91 percent today.

“The American people will appear to be the most enlightened community in the world. The whole population, as I observed in another place, is situated between these two extremes. In New England, every citizen receives the elementary notions of human knowledge; he is moreover taught the doctrines and the evidences of his religion, the history of his country, and the leading features of its Constitution. In the States of Connecticut and Massachusetts, it is extremely rare to find a man imperfectly acquainted with all these things, and a person wholly ignorant of them is a sort of phenomenon.”

– Alex De Tocqueville, 1835 Democracy in America

On top of removing the Bible as a tool for learning, they have now placed the high bar of entry (illiteracy) in front of most people, barring the Bible out of most people’s life, so that even if a person was curious and wanted to know more, they might not be willing to tackle the challenge of not just reading, but reading a much more enigmatic and older style of reading.

“When Man ceases to worship God, he does not worship nothing but worships everything.”

-GK Chesterton

Most people form their essential worldviews and core philosophies before they turn 18. In the absence of worship or strong belief in God, they seek to order the world mentally through prioritizing their desires. But without the aid of Biblical truths to guide that process, it usually turns into the glorification of sexual pleasure, status, and wealth. These become their gods. Like Moses descending from the mountain top, we find them celebrating golden calves, and almost certainly never Jesus Christ. And with their life now devoted to these idols, they now have one more obstacle between them and Christianity.

Sex Education

Sex Education has been and continues to be a direct blow to both the Nuclear Family and Christianity. Many are under the impression that sex education is “neutral”, but nothing could be further from the truth. Educationcannot be “values neutral” for the absence of values communicates to the child that values are not important or relevant. Many parents balk at the idea of having to teach their children about the birds and the bees. But wouldn’t you know, the schools are willing to do it for them. How convenient! So, the schools are now a child’s source of information, their peers a source of values. The CDC surveyed high school student in 2013 and found that 46.8% had never had sexual intercourse (meaning 53.2% have had sex) and that 34% had sexual intercourse in the last 3 months of the survey.

That report was almost 10 years ago, meaning those numbers have probably only gotten worse.

The schools have stopped teaching abstinence until marriage in the 50s, and have since only taught worse and worse things and surprise! – promiscuity keeps going up. It’s as if there is a direct correlation between more and more sex “education” from the schools and children becoming the participants of hookup culture.

Sex “education” in the schools have increasingly become more graphic, that is, pornographic. Children are being encouraged to and instructed in how to fornicate and other sexual acts. Don’t believe me? Check out this article detailing the history of sex education in America.

With the lack of Christian values regarding virtue, such ideas are quickly labeled by many children as dated, restrictive, and backwards. Now those who advocate Christian beliefs of chastity and virtue are frequently mocked and made fun of. Sexual conquest has now become the metric by which these children measure their own standing within social hierarchy, as well as the standing of others.

With the schools actively promoting hookup culture and hedonism, children are now on paths to create broken families. Fatherless homes, divorce, abuse, all from our “wonderful” and “free” public schools. The end result of sex education in schools is that the bedrock of our civilization has now taken another massive hit. How many more hits can it take I wonder?

Call to Action

What a mess! Perhaps as a parent (or even future parent) you are wondering what you can do for your child. What can be done? Bring your children home and homeschool. There is an abundance of resources for free online and homeschooling communities in almost every part of the country. Perhaps you feel for one reason or another you can’t homeschool: finances, lack of qualification, lack of resources or time, etc. Plenty of people in more difficult situations have overcome those same things and would be delighted to tell you how you can do it.

Reach out to your local homeschool community. Just google “[Insert your city’s name here] homeschool groups” or search “[Insert your city’s name here] homeschool” on Facebook to find group pages.

Another great resource is the website https://www.publicschoolexit.com/

Go ahead and take 5-15 minutes right now to look into it, and take some time late this week to look into homeschooling. It’s not nearly as out of your reach as you may think. So many have made the switch and only regretted not doing it sooner.
