When most parents think about school, they envision teachers passing down knowledge and preparing students for life and liberty. But what if parents learned that activists have quietly hijacked the very foundation of teacher training and curriculum design with a radically different vision? That’s exactly what the journal Radical Teacher represents, and it’s time for parents to see the truth.
Founded in 1975 and currently published by the University of Pittsburgh, Radical Teacher openly declares itself as a socialist, feminist, and anti-racist journal “dedicated to the theory and practice of teaching.” The theoretical and practical foundation for thousands of educators is being shaped not by classical principles or academic excellence, but by Marxist frameworks, sexual identity politics, and racial essentialism.
The journal’s purpose is not hidden; it aims to “examine the root causes of inequality” and promote “progressive social change.” It promotes Critical Race Theory (CRT), reproductive justice, and anti-capitalism. It even praises documentaries like “Welcome to Commie High,” a celebration of radical education that challenges academic norms in favor of activism, identity politics, and collectivist thinking.
From articles titled ‘Teaching Reproductive Justice’ to ‘Dispatches from the Encampments and Beyond: Student Protests for Palestine,’ Radical Teacher curates content aimed at transforming students into political operatives, often in opposition to family values, the Constitution, and biblical truth.

This radical agenda isn’t isolated; it’s part of a larger movement to infiltrate and weaponize education from the top down. A clear example was recently seen at the Socialism 2025 Conference in Chicago. On the website, socialismconference.org, the conference is described as bringing together thousands of socialists and radical activists from across the country to participate in discussions about social movements, abolition, Marxism, decolonization, working-class history, and strategies for organizing today. Professors from elite universities openly discussed how to reshape and undermine the very institutions that employ them.
One panel titled “Community as Rebellion: Building Networks of Resistance Inside and Outside the University” was led by Princeton professor Lorgia García Peña, who encouraged faculty to use university platforms and resources to build activist communities and disrupt traditional educational roles. This wasn’t about simply improving education; it aimed to transform the university into a hub for socialist revolution.
Another panel, titled “The State of the State,” featured well-known radical academics such as David McNally and Robin D.G. Kelley, who discussed ways to deconstruct and reimagine Western institutions through the lens of Marxism and identity-based revolution. Their words echoed the themes found in Radical Teacher: that America’s educational system must be dismantled and rebuilt around race, class struggle, gender ideology, and collectivism.
These are the same voices shaping the next generation of Educators: those who will enter your child’s classroom with training rooted in critical theory, postmodernism, and cultural Marxism, not in facts and freedom.
This is more than just theoretical. Radical Teacher is a peer-reviewed journal that directly impacts teacher licensing, university classes, and what your child learns, in both New York City and rural Georgia. Your child’s education is at stake.
Its editorial board features faculty from the City University of New York (CUNY), UCLA, The New School, and other institutions known for advocating far-left ideologies. Its published volumes come across like a manifesto:
- Volume 126: Teaching (About) Socialism
- Volume 125: Critical Creativity
- Volume 130: Fighting for Palestinian Justice at a Hostile University
- Volume 131: Critical of/with/for DEI: an Introduction
And they are now advocating for more articles that describe CRT as a “radical teaching praxis”, arming teachers to frame race, gender, and sexuality not as topics to understand but as battlegrounds for revolution.
These approaches are often marketed as inclusive or student-centered, but they foster division, confusion, and weaken authority, especially parental and biblical authority.
While Radical Teacher is not part of the National Education Association (NEA), it shares similar goals. Both believe education should serve as a tool for political and ideological change, rather than focus on academic skills through critical thinking.
Parents must ask:
- Who is shaping the worldview of my child’s teacher?
- How is my child being influenced by educators trained in these radical frameworks?
- Is “education” still about truth, or about reshaping society according to Marxist goals?
Truth in Education believes that parents are the primary educators, and serve as the watchmen on the wall. Journals like Radical Teacher and events like Socialism 2025 reveal just how deeply the battle for children’s minds is being fought. It’s not just about what’s being taught, but who is teaching it, and why.
The first and most effective line of defense is to remove children from these environments entirely. If a school has become a training ground for ideological activism rather than a place of truth, character, and virtue, then it is both wise and loving to withdraw them. There is no neutral ground when a child’s heart and mind are at stake.
We urge every parent in the school system to pray, learn, and act. Review your school’s curriculum. Ask questions at school board meetings. Support legislation that restores control to families, not to ideologues. And above all, teach children truth, the kind of truth that sets them free.
As Jesus said in John 8:32, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” The truth liberates us from bondage and leads to a life of freedom, not just spiritually, but intellectually, emotionally, and culturally.
This is why the ideologies found in journals like Radical Teacher are so dangerous, they don’t just change how teachers think; they shape how your children are taught to view the world. The only way to stop this influence is to recognize it, confront it, and, when necessary, remove your child from the environment entirely.
