Reporting on the ground at the United Nations’ (UN) headquarters for The Summit of the Future, The New American’s Alex Newman pressed the UN Secretary-General’s spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric, on Congress’ pushback against the UN and the World Health Organization through House Bill 6645 and Senate Bill 3428, both labeled the “DEFUND Act.” Additionally, Newman highlighted the news that 26 Republican governors have signed a commitment to push back against the WHO’s mandates in their respective states. “The Pact for the Future is not about world government; it is about making an organization of independent, sovereign member states work better,” Dujarric responded to the question. “The Secretary-General has almost no authority.”
