Public School Exit leaders say this is a historic opportunity to save millions of children from sexualization, indoctrination, and dumbing down.
SAN DIEGO — With coronavirus shutting government schools for weeks or even months, millions of parents have a historic opportunity to try homeschooling and non-government alternatives for the first time, declared leaders with the new grassroots movement “Public School Exit.”
According to the non-profit, founded in 2019 by Christian leaders passionate about God and solid K-12 education, government schools are seriously harming children. This includes early sexualization, radical indoctrination, and the deliberate dumbing down of America’s precious youth.
But with public schools closed across most of the nation due to concerns over the Wuhan COVID19 virus, interest in home education and private online options is surging in an unprecedented way, news reports reveal. To capitalize on that, leaders in Christian education and homeschooling are speaking out.
PSE co-founder Dran Reese, president of The Salt & Light Council, called on ministry leaders to be involved. “Pastors and church leaders have a huge role to play in equipping congregations with a biblical understanding of citizenship, and that includes education of children,” she said. “This pandemic is a perfect time for pastors on the sidelines to get involved.”
PSE co-founder Lt. Col. E. Ray Moore (Ret.), leader of Exodus Mandate and the powerful alliance Christian Education Initiative, has worked for decades to rescue children from “godless” and “pagan” government schools.
“But in all my years in this movement, I’ve never seen an opportunity like this,” he said, celebrating “this incredible chance to save millions of young Americans from anti-Christian indoctrination.”
University professor Dr. Duke Pesta, who leads the online K-12 school FreedomProject Academy, has a great deal of experience in ensuring a great education for children. “With the technology and tools available today such as those we use at FreedomProject, there are no more excuses for parents to continue sending their children to public schools,” said Dr. Pesta, one of America’s most prolific and respected critics of Common Core.
Educator and author Alex Newman, president of Liberty Sentinel Media and another one of the founders of PSE, sounded optimistic. “We hope that by educating parents about the horrors of government schools amid this crisis, and encouraging them to try homeschooling, we can grow the home-education and Christian-school movement with millions of new students,” said Newman, who co-authored the best-selling book Crimes of the Educators. “Hopefully, when public schools start back up, they will do so with a lot less victims to indoctrinate.”
Former Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Diane Douglas, who oversaw the state Department of Education until 2018, has joined the educational advisory board of PSE and is also urging parents to get their children out of public schools immediately. “This is part of a 100-year or 150-year battle for the souls of our children,” said Douglas, urging parents to homeschool or use vetted private schools.
As President Trump explained in his State of the Union speech, nobody should be “trapped in failing government schools.” Now is the time to act, PSE leaders said.

I was a public high school history teacher for over 30 years. The system needed a huge shaking and the time has come for it to come tumbling down. Only a catastrophic event such as the COVID 19 pandemic could do it.
