Lake County, FL, Commissioners Pass Bill of Rights Sanctuary County Ordinance in Historic 4-1 Vote.

TAVARES, FL — In a historic decision today, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners voted 4-1 to adopt a Bill of Rights Sanctuary County Ordinance, affirming Lake County’s commitment to protecting the God-given constitutional rights of its citizens at the local level.

The ordinance represents a significant step toward ensuring that the freedoms guaranteed under the United States Constitution and the Florida Constitution remain protected against unconstitutional overreach from any level of government.

Supporters of the ordinance praised the courage, leadership, and constitutional fidelity demonstrated by the Commissioners in taking action to uphold the liberties of the people they serve.

“This was a powerful moment for Lake County and for the future of constitutional government in America,” said Bill Mitchell, Florida State Director for the Constitutional Sheriffs & Peace Officers Association. “The Commissioners showed tremendous courage and wisdom by recognizing that local government has both the authority and the duty to stand between the people and unconstitutional overreach.”

The ordinance is designed to reinforce constitutional protections at the county level by affirming the role of local government officials — including County Commissioners, the Sheriff, and other constitutional officers — in defending the rights of citizens.

Advocates believe Lake County’s action will serve as a model for counties across Florida and throughout the nation that are seeking lawful, constitutional ways to preserve liberty and restore trust in local self-government.

“This is about more than politics,” Mitchell added. “It is about preserving the foundational principles that made America free — the idea that government exists to protect the rights of the people, not to infringe upon them.”

The passage of the ordinance comes amid growing national conversations surrounding constitutional rights, local governance, medical freedom, property rights, due process, and the proper balance of governmental authority.

Supporters expressed optimism that Lake County’s leadership will inspire other counties to pursue similar protections for their citizens.

“We believe today is a turning point for the state of Florida,” Mitchell said. “ as Lake County now becomes the seventh county to pass legislation that demonstrates that local communities still have the ability — and responsibility — to peacefully and lawfully defend the liberties of their citizens.”

Rick Carlins, Lake County Director for the Constitutional Sheriffs & Peace Officers Association, along with community members, constitutional advocates, and grassroots organizations from across Florida attended and participated in support of the ordinance. 1. HIGHLIGHTING THE IMPOTENCE OF THE BILL OF RIGHTS!

Americans should have listened to Patrick Henry who refused to attend the Constitutional Convention as onw\e of Virginia’s delegates, declaring, “I smelt a rat!”:

“…Convinced the Constitution would fail to secure and protect liberty, Patrick Henry voiced his concerns to the Virginia Ratifying Convention in 1788:

‘…I say our privileges and rights are in danger. …the new form of Government … will … effectually … oppress and ruin the people…. In some parts of the plan before you, the great rights of freemen are endangered, in other parts, absolutely taken away…. There will be no checks, no real balances, in this Government: What can avail your specious imaginary balances, your rope-dancing, chain-rattling, ridiculous ideal checks and contrivances? …And yet who knows the dangers that this new system may produce: they are out of the sight of the common people: They cannot foresee latent consequences…. I see great jeopardy in this new Government.’67

“In contrast to the federalists’ failed predictions, this and nearly everything the anti-federalists forecast about the Constitution has come true [even after the Bill of Rights were added]….”*

More importantly, when *examined* by the Bible, there’s hardly an Article or Amendment that’s not antithetical, if not seditious, to Yahweh’s sovereignty and morality.**
